Quilting, Cross Stitch, and Rug Hooking

A Kudzu Vine

FUN FACT: The Kudzu Vine can grow up to a foot a day.

Summer is here in Georgia. The weather is heating up and will be sweltering soon. The Kudzu is growing. The weeds are growing. The folks who mow the grass along the highways are starting to be seen. The smell is divine. A dense thick mossy smell that reminds me of Georgia. Kudu is starting to take over the world once again. Our local lake is high and folks are fishing. Did you know that most of the lakes in Georgia are man made. I didn’t! The trees are green and are blocking the back fence of my large 1/3 of acre of land. The grass needs mowing once a week. We are starting to warm up and the temperature is climbing. The pools have opened up in my subdivision and I am ready to get some pool time in. Love the Summer time.

We moved back to North Georgia six years ago to the wonderful green Kudzu and the great smells of the South. It is interesting life change to be in the craziness of Southern California for 38 years to then back go a to small town in Georgia. The town today is right on the edge of the city sprawl of Atlanta and the farm county of what I remember from living here years ago.

Today my husband and I are living the retired life. We do a lot of dog sitting, walking and holding with two new puppies in our lives. My joys include Cross Stitching, Quilting and Rug Hooking. These activites keep me active with shopping, guild meeting and retreats. I make cross stitch samplers, primitive muddy ugly quilts and dabble in rug hooking.  Cross stitch is my main passion at the moment. It is taking all of my head space and working on the x’s is my go to project.

This blog will be about my life and adventures and what I create.

Toodles, see ya’ll soon! Happy Stitchen!!
